Contrast & Presence

There is no life without death.
There is no light without darkness.
Contrast doesn’t seek our suffering.
It seeks our attention.
Death says, “Pay attention.”
Look closer.
You are alive.
Your 5 senses work.
Mind, body, and soul are one.
You’re here, right now.
Where is your focus?
Pay attention now, not later.
Where is your heart?
This very moment is all you ever have.
Why do we avoid the present?
It is our worry? Our fear?
Or is it our amnesia that we are mortal.
What do we need right now, that we don’t already have?
The answer is nothing.
Presence asks for nothing, wants for nothing, needs for nothing.
Presence is keen, alert, alive, and certain.
Presence has enough trust and honesty to dispel all fears.
It sees through the illusion of fear.
It knows it’s not real.
What is real?
Only ever this moment that you find yourself in.
Only ever what’s happening around you right now.
Will you finally decide it is enough?
Or will you continue to avoid this inherent enoughness?
